How’s it going today with you?
I’m guessing you’re here because you want to know is Opinion Outpost legit or a scam out to steal your money right?
Well within my review I’ll be going over everything you need to know about this company such as how it works, how much they pay, is it safe to use, and more.
This way by the time you’re done reading you’ll be able to decide if this is something you would or would not like to try out.
So without wasting any more time, let’s get into it!
Quick Summary Of Opinion Outpost
Name: Opinion Outpost
Price: Free to join
Rating: 2 out of 5
What Is Opinion Outpost?
In short, Opinion Outpost is a place you can go to answer surveys on and earn money.
To be more precise though, it’s a marketing research company owned by Survey Sampling International, LLC — which gathers information and data from you and sells it to major corporations so they can better understand their audience.
Now this company was founded back in January of 2009 ( 11 years ago ) and still seems to be doing quite well.
But since it’s been around for so long, does this mean that it’s a good opportunity to join and will help you make a lot of money?
Well to be quite frank No.
And I’ll explain more why this is in a second. But first let me talk a bit on what you’ll be doing if you do decide to try it out.
How Does Opinion Outpost Work?
According to Opinion Outpost, you only have to do 3 simple steps to make money with their website.
- Sign up to join
- Take surveys, test products, and watch ads
- Then choose your reward
However I want to expand on this a little bit so you can get a better picture on EXACTLY what you’ll have to be doing.
First and foremost you have to be 18 years old to join this opportunity. And if you are, then you can start doing the first step which is to sign up.
Now Opinion Outpost’s signup procedure is pretty thorough and will take you on average 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
And they will ask you a bunch of very sensitive and private information such as …
- What is your occupation
- what’s your personal income
- Do you have any loans
- Who do you bank with
- What are your favorite hobbies
- And so on and so forth
So if you feel comfortable giving out all this information you will then be able to enter the members area and start answering some surveys.
Now on average, each survey lasts about 10 – 15 minutes long and the surveys should be pretty relevant to you ( hence why you had to answer all those questions when you signed up ).
So now you’re probably wanting to know …
How Much Can You Make?
Well like how most survey sites operate such as PrizeRebel and Opinion City — this one here uses a point system which means as you answer the surveys you will be given so many points until you’ve earned enough to cash out.
Now 10 points equals $1 within this company, and on average each survey gives you around 5 – 10 points.
Now when you reach a maximum of 100 points or $10, you can cash out either through PayPal, Itunes gift card, or a Visa prepaid card.
Or if you want, you can cash out at $5 with an Amazon e voucher.
So all in all, if you had surveys at 10 points each continually being sent into your inbox you could make around $3 – $5 dollars an hour.
However in reality you’re more than likely going to earn a few cents or dollars at best in a day.
Opinion Outpost Red Flags
You Won’t Get A Lot Of Surveys
According to several reviews I read, Opinion Outpost will not give you a lot of surveys to do. In fact people said on average they get 5 – 7 a month.
This is because according to Opinion Outpost surveys are customized around each individual client, so if your profile does not match the particular person a company is looking for you will not be sent one.
So they tell you to keep your profile always up to date, but in the long run this really isn’t going to make that big of a difference.
You Can Only Join If You Live In The United States
When was I reading Opinion Outpost’s frequently asked questions, I learned that only people who live in the United States are able to join this opportunity.
Which I think is not fair, but I’m assuming this is the case because most of their clients are probably based in the U.S.
Therefore they will naturally want data of people that live in the same area as they do.
People are getting kicked out of surveys often
One of the things I hate about survey sites in general is that you can be in the middle of a survey and all of a sudden get kicked out out of it.
For example this person here says about 5 times out of the week he will answer a survey for about 30 minutes then out of the blue be kicked out without earning any points.
This is because as you answer more and more questions, Opinion Outpost starts to realize that you are not the ideal candidate they are looking for — so they will cut you off and give it to someone that is more qualified.
Now is this fair? I certainly don’t think so.
However as I said, this is the nature of survey sites, and you will have to accept the fact that this will happen to you and quite often.
People’s Accounts Are Getting Frozen Without Any Warning
Another problem people are having with Opinion Outpost is that they say they are getting locked out of their accounts for no reason at all.
One second they will be able to log in, then the next they are sent an email stating that they have violated the terms and conditions.
Now this is another common problem I see time and time again across survey sites, and why this happens I’m not entirely sure.
But more times than not this will usually occur when you have enough money to cash out — then by some weird coincidence they suddenly block your account.
Therefore it’s easy to see why people get mad, and if they are doing this on purpose to keep from having to pay people then they are in fact an unethical company you should not be apart of.
So onto the question that I know you’ve been dying to hear.
Is Opinion Outpost A Scam?
Well after looking over this company for several hours, I can say that this is indeed a legit company that you can earn money with.
Now as I just mentioned there are many people getting their accounts frozen or getting kicked out of surveys — but in the same token there are also several people cashing out and enjoying this company.
However with all that said, I just want to remind you that even if you can do surveys every day on this website you will still be making a very small amount of money.
So while you’re more than welcome to try this out, I personally would not recommend it due to the reasons I just gave you.
What I Like About It
- The surveys you get will be very relevant to you
What I Don’t Like About It
- You will have to give out a lot of personal information to join this company
- It’s only available in the United States
- Many people are having their accounts frozen
- You will not make a lot of money by answer surveys
My Final Thoughts
Opinion Outpost is a legit survey website that will allow you to earn a small side income for doing very little work.
However the keyword I want you to focus on here is small.
Because you can literally spend all day on this website answering surveys, and you could still make way more money by working at Mcdonalds instead of joining this opportunity.
And I don’t know about you but I see my time as something very valuable, so I want to spend it doing something that will help me earn a lot of money online and not just pennies.
This is why I prefer affiliate marketing to generate an income online.
Unlike surveys which require you to sit in front of a computer all day answering boring questions, with this method there’s no limit to how much you can earn — and the best part is you can make money while you’re eating, sleeping, on vacation, or whatever.
Which sounds like a way better option don’t you think?
